1 Thessalonians 2:7-12, "But we proved to
be gentle among you, as a nursing mother tenderly
cares for her own children. Having thus a fond
affection for you, we were well-pleased to impart to
you not only the gospel of God but also our own
lives, because you had become very dear to us. For
you recall, brethren, our labor and hardship, how
working night and day so as not to be a burden to
any of you, we proclaimed to you the gospel of God.
You are witnesses, and so is God, how devoutly and
uprightly and blamelessly we behaved toward you
believers; just as you know how we were exhorting
and encouraging and imploring each one of you as a
father would his own children, so that you may walk
in a manner worthy of the God who calls you into His
own kingdom and glory.”
The discipleship ministries of Grace Chapel grow out of an
understanding that those who are made whole in Jesus
Christ are to give of themselves in sacrificial ways
as they speak the Word of God to the lives of
others. Discipling others flows from a desire to
please God, a love for His Word, and a concern for
others. Paul, in his example for ministry, said he
was so fond of the Thessalonian believers that he
was not content to only preach the gospel to them,
but to also give his life to them. He was willing to
be inconvenienced in his own life in order to help
them be all that God wanted them to be. In teaching
and in living, we desire to help others come to
Christ and live for Christ to the glory of God the
Father. We do this in a variety of ways.
-
Men’s Ministries
-
Various Bible teaching and fellowship venues
throughout the year encourage our men to pursue
God and His Word with single-hearted devotion.
Some of these opportunities include small group
studies, men’s prayer breakfast, Fall Fling (an
outdoor ministry for men in October), and
informal opportunities to use spiritual gifts in
ministering to others.
-
Women’s Ministries
– Various Bible teaching and fellowship venues
throughout the year encourage our women, many of
whom meet on a regular basis including selected
“Precept Studies” during the school year,
different studies in homes as announced, and
“First Fridays” (a Titus 2 women’s group meeting
the first Friday of each month).
-
Prime Timers
- A ministry especially involving the Senior
Adults of Grace Chapel, primarily for the
purpose of Christian fellowship and mutual
encouragement.
-
Evangelistic Bible Studies –
Informally, as an outreach to our community, we
provide in-home Bible studies designed to teach
the gospel for those who are interested in
understanding Christianity.
-
Cobeac Ministry
– Camp Cobeac is Grace Chapel’s church camp
facility, a 26 acre camp near West Liberty made
available for specific venues of discipleship,
evangelism, and fellowship.
