Truth is immortal. Therefore it must
be constantly upheld, clarified, proclaimed, and defended. Because of
careful study and with deep conviction, we believe the following to be an
accurate interpretation of the indispensable doctrines essential to the
Christian faith, which we also teach.
-
The Bible, consisting of both Old and New
Testaments, is God’s written revelation to man, inspired and inerrant,
in part and in whole as given in its original documents, being
completely sufficient and authoritative in all matters pertaining to
salvation and godly living.
-
There is but one living and true God, one in
essence, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit, each equally deserving worship and obedience.
-
Man was created by God in His own image, and
having descended from Adam who sinned, have incurred physical,
spiritual, and eternal death, which is separation from God, and that as
a consequence all human beings are born with a sinful nature, are
sinners by choice, and are therefore under condemnation.
-
Jesus Christ the Lord, being fully God and
fully man, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died a
substitutionary and atoning death, rose bodily from the dead, and
ascended to the right hand of the Father.
-
Salvation is by grace alone, through faith
alone, in Christ alone, to anyone who repents of his sins and receives
Jesus Christ as Saving Lord, thereby obtaining the right to become a
child of God unto eternal life, not as a result of any human merit but
solely by God’s sovereign grace.
-
Every believer is indwelt and secured by the
Holy Spirit and therefore as a new creation walks in the newness of the
Spirit by desiring to obey God and striving to grow in Christlikeness.
-
All who put their faith in Jesus Christ are
immediately placed by the Holy Spirit into one universal church, the
living spiritual body of which Christ is the Head and all regenerated
persons are members. This reality is expressed in local assemblies of
believers who upon a credible profession of faith through baptism, are
associated for worship, service, and fellowship.
-
Jesus Christ will certainly return in His
Second Coming to judge the living and the dead, the redeemed to eternal
life with Him, the unredeemed to eternal damnation in hell.
